Supervision

**November 2024** I have immediate space for new supervisees by phone or video call.

Enquiries for in-person supervision in GL1 are welcome.

My style of supervision has been described as managing you, the supervisee, without you feeling managed, supportively challenging, and warm and good humoured.

Having coached and line managed others in the helping profession for 25 years I understand the importance of a sound mentor, and how useful it is to have a space where it’s completely safe to air your fears, hopes and anxieties.

I run regular groups and also work one to one with supervisees, either standalone, or to top up agency or training provider supervision, in order to meet professional body requirements.

I regularly work across both BACP (British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and NCS (National Counselling Society) guidelines.

I am additionally familiar with the pending, shared standards’ framework SCoPEd (Scope of Practise and Education) jointly devised and suported by these and 4 other Professional Standards Authority accredited bodies.

I understand the challenges faced by trainees, juggling studies, work, home life and placements, all while trying to deal with the fact that you don’t know what you don’t know! As mentoring students and trainees is of particular interest to me, I’m able to offer concessionary rates for affordable supervision, for those who need it.

Regular sessions are usually held monthly, or fortnightly using Zoom for secure video calls and cost £60 an hour.

An initial, no obligation session is offered at just £30, allowing us to explore how we might work together in a supervisory relationship.
